Work for a week…

January 8th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Alarm goes off at 7. Snooze. Alarm goes off at 7:08. Snooze. Alarm goes off at 7:16. Snooze. Alarm goe…

You get the picture. Yes I am working again. But just for a week. So please excuse the lack of updates, posts, and excessive new page errors that you all have grown used to experiencing week in and week out. I got a job with the factory I worked at this past summer, yet for this week (I know, it’s only for a week…what the hell am I complaining for?) I am now working in the offices. It really isn’t that bad. In fact, I kinda like it now. I bring in my CD player and listen to it all day and just file papers and run errands. Not that bad for…..wait a minute…I have no clue how much I am making. Eh, it can’t be that bad. Even minimum wage at 40 hours a week comes out to something. And the people I work with are pretty cool too. Plenty of candy and food to eat and just nice people all around. Not like this past summer when I didn’t care for a few of my co-workers.

But I am 3/5 done now. All I have left is tomorrow and Friday and then it is off to attend a family matter and then back to school, where I will have plenty of time to finalyl build this site to what I want it to be….Look at me, I’m going to bed before midnight…..what is wrong with me?

Oh and 1 last thing. Please go check out Mindy. She is an amazing person and I’m sure you all have already been to her site many times, but she really has a great site and deserves some more viewers!

I hate the Falcons

January 5th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Those stupid, dumb shit, god damn, mothing fucking Falcons.

But give Green Bay some credit. They were playing without their #1 tackler, #1 sacker, #1 interceptor, #1 running back, and #1, #2, #3 recievers…..jesus christ.

Favre can’t do it all boys. This is the playoffs. You play through injuries. You play to win. I just can’t really speak right now.

Neopets will be the death of me

January 4th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Has anybody else been doing something, something they do all the time, and then just stopped and realized…”Wow, I’m a nerd.”

As many of you already know, I am addicted to Neopets <-- *Points to link on the left. Use it to get the to mainpage and sign up, giving me a referal!* Jessica is also addicted to Neopets. Give us two computers in the same room and all night to do whatever we want and we will play nothing but Neopets together…ok, maybe we will do a few others things together, but that is for a different conversation =)

But seriously, it was 5AM last night and we were playing Neopets without even blinking at the time. Hello 6AM. Hello 7AM. Hello sun. Hello 9AM.

Hello AA meetings.

No really, I’m heading to one the instant I find one. Oh shit, now I just missed a great deal on a . Until next time.

New Year

January 2nd, 2003 at 12:00 am

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The last few days have been pretty eventful for me, though not too much fun. Monday Jess and I went shopping for food and basically just chilled here at her apartment. Tuesday rolled around and we thought it might be a little fun to just hang out here with her neighbors and watch some fireworks and have a few drinks =) Now anybody that knows me knows that I 99.99999% of the time I won’t touch alcohol. The last time I did was over 3 years ago and that was basically the first time for me. But I thought it might be fun to drink a little when it was just me and her here, so we walked outside and that is when my week began to suck like hell.

Chloe was extremely afraid of the fireworks. Even when we were inside, she was growling and barking at them and just wouldn’t calm down. Well Jess and I thought she would be okay if we brought her out with us. The guys next store were shooting off Roman Candles and when the first one went off, Chloe sprinted back inside with some other dogs. We made her come back outside and I shut the door and when the next batch of fireworks went off, she took off around the corner. Well she runs down the street and back all the time so we thought nothing of it since all the other dogs around went in the same direction. But after a few minutes, all the owners went looking for their dogs and in the end, Chloe and Charlie were missing. Charlie’s owners had seen them running further down the street, so we went looking for them and looked around for a good 30 minutes before returning home, only to find Charlie sitting there…without Chloe.

We went looking throughout the entire night for her, unable to find her. This all happened around 10:30 PM and we were out looking until around 4 AM. There isn’t really that much around this apartment complex. It is relatively new and the only things near here are another apartment complex, and a main road. We’ve driven down all the roads a good 50 times and thank god we haven’t seen her hit or anything. She was wearing her collar, which had her tag saying she had her rabies shot and her other tag has a 1-800 number on it to call if she is found. When we got her, we had a chip implanted in her to where if she was ever brought to an animal shelter, they could see her tag, scan the chip, and return her. We called the number and let them know that she was missing, so hopefully whoever has found her will realize that they are supposed to call the number on it. But the people around here aren’t quite the…oh what’s the phrase….brightest in the world.

We went to Kinkos and a friend of Jessica’s sister was working. He gave us 50 free color copies of the flier we made, which ended up being like a $49 value! He also just handed us a stapler and some staples and said to go find her, so he helped a ton. It was so much more than he had to do for us, but we were so thankful and it really did help a lot. We drove around and posted a good 30 of them on STOP signs and whatnot around her house.

We were driving back in the woods around her house and we kept stopping ever 1/2 mile or so to listen for barking and call her name. We heard tons of dogs barking, but we did stop once and this one barking caught both our attentions. We looked at each other and ran back to the car to see if we could find the source of it. We sped to Wal-Mart and bought some flashlights and by the time we got back, the barking had stopped. It really sounded like Chloe’s “I am fucking annoyed, so give me what I want” bark and tomorrow we are going to go back there during daylight and see if we can find her. Wish us luck. She really is like our baby to us. We treat her like a child and joke about “practicing” with her for when we have our own kids in a few years together.

So, other than that, nothing much else has been going on with me lately. I’ve been busy playing Neopets and posting on Mia’s message board while on the computer. I called my old employer today and asked about getting a job for next week. It paid $8 an hour and you get 40 hours a week, so $260 for a week’s worth of work really would help out sooooooooooooo much. I am currently about $50 in the red after payment for school this upcoming semester, so I really need some cash to hold me over until I can get a full time job down in Columbia. But really, most of my time has been well spent searching for Chloe with Jess.

Again with the random shit

December 29th, 2002 at 12:01 am

Well, my Packers got a royal ass whooping today. Not what I wanted to see at all since had they won they would have gotten home field advantage throughout the playoffs and the Packers have never lost a home field playoff game at home. Oh well, I should be happy they are still going to the playoffs I guess.

I didn’t wake up until around 4ish today. I love being lazy =) I watched the Packers game with Jess and then we went to a little Ma and Pop’s store that sells subs and pasta and got some dinner. Then back to her apartment to eat and goof around on the computer. I got her GreyMatter up and running, which was really nice. That damn thing had been giving me problems last night, so I had to uninstall it all and reload everything.

I got a call from my new roommate tonight. I didn’t talk to him for long, but it turns out that my roommate was switched yet again. It was some guy named Cooper last week and now it’s some new guy. He sounded pretty cool, so hopefully things will work out like they did this last semester.

Well I am off to eat the rest of my Calzone and work some more on my site. I updated my Site Information and now I’m debating on which subpage to work on next. Any suggestions?

Christmas

December 29th, 2002 at 12:00 am

Well, it has been a damn long time since I have posted anything. I’m actually impressed with myself for going this long without being around a computer and not having some sort of withdrawl attack or spasms of something. Damn…now that I think about it, I have done a ton of shit since I last posted. What’s that? You want to hear about it all? Well in that case…

Well I last posted on Sunday, so what did I do Monday? Drive to Atlanta! Jessica and I had tickets to the Hawks - Wizards game since Michael Jordan is playing in his most likely last year and Jessica has always wanted to see him play since she was a little kid =) We drove to Atlanta and got a hotel for the night and then the next day we woke up and walked around Atlanta for a few hours before heading over to the arena for the game! We were afraid that Jordan would take the night off, but he ended up kicking the Hawks’ ass and scored a season-high 30 points that night! So we were pretty damn happy that we didn’t drive to Atlanta just to see Jordan sit on the bench =)

So what are we at? Wednesday? Ahhh, well we then drove home for the day to get ready for the next few days because we were picking up our siblings and heading up to Tennessee to stay at one of their state parks for a few days! My younger brothers Tommy and Clay and Jessica’s younger brother Kyle came with us and by Thursday morning, we were on the road!

Now Maquest had us taking all these backroads to get there and said that it would take over 3 hours. But I swore that I had found a short cut after looking at the map! So I navigated our way for a good hour or two….but by the 4th hour….we were a tad lost =) I know I know, but damnit, I swore that the way we were going would have gotten us there just fine! We pulled over at this Burger King where the employes were a bit….how do you say it….hickish? I really was surprised they knew hoe to operate that complicated cash register and when we asked them for directions, it was easily one of the funniest Unintentional Comedy Scale moments of all time. They were trying so hard to be nice and helpful, but NOBODY agreed with each other and then they started fighting with each other on how to get there and then they were getting confused by the TWO stop lights along the way and which way was left or right….Seriously, this stuff couldn’t have been scripted any better…So by the 5th hour and 2 mountain tips later, we arrived at our destination! I made a quick note not to take that damn short cut on our way home.

SOOOOO, we unloaded the car and headed up to our cabin, which intentionally had no television or telephone. So no TV, no phone, no Internet. Just us and……well us basically. We were the only guests and the nearest town was a good 10 miles away. So we drive into “town” and realize that there is only one little general store that sells food. As we walk in, we are expecting to be ripped off by the food prices, but once we start looking at things, they were cheaper than anything I have ever seen before! Since the “town” is so little, everybody knows everybody and the people who ran the store weren’t in it to make a profit, they were in it to help out their friends and family. So we stocked up on food and headed back to the cabin. It was night all ready and storming outside, so we decided to go ahead and make dinner and play board games. As we were getting into a good game of Stratego, the power decided to flicker out….and then a few seconds later it pops back on.

Well this goes on for a few minutes. After doing this for the 20th time or so, people start getting scared, and after 3 hours later, I pack us all back up in the car, drive 45 minutes to the next city, and get us a hotel room =) What a way to “rough it!!”

So now we are at, Friday? Friday we hike up to the top of one of the nearby mountains and then back down. The scenery was awesome and Chloe (our puppy) loved it. She was sprinting ahead of us, then dashing back to us, then doing it all over again. We got pretty tired though. We stopped for many “picture breaks” throughout the day and after a few hours of hiking, we headed back to the cabin. I don’t know if anybody has played these games before, but if not, you really need to go check out Ultimate Stratego (You gotta get the Ultimate Version, not the Original version. There is a huge difference) and Catch Phrase. Those were the only games we had up there and they are easily the best two games ever. The same went for Saturday and those two days were easily the most relaxed days I have had in such a long time.

But for everything good, something bad must happen. And that came on Sunday when I woke up with the worst flu ever. I wanted to pass out and never wake up again, but I could never fall asleep and ended up just laying in bed all day. Jessica went and got me some medicine, which helped a hell of a lot, and she ended up making me feel much better =) I was extremelly thankful for everything she did! By Monday it was time for us to leave. We got home a little quicker then our drive up there (thank fucking god) and we loved it so much up there, we are going to try and get a huge group together and go for the summer. Monday night we were originally planning on driving back to Charleston, but my parents begged and begged us to stay for Christmas because they said they needed us there for X-mas morning. So we caved in and decided to stay there until Wednesday. We went shopping for my family that night and then on Tuesday, we hung around and waited for X-mas.

So come Christmas morning! We woke up at 6 AM to go over to Jessica’s house to spend the early morning with her family, which was fun =) They unexpectedly game me a gift card to Best Buy which was really, really nice! Now I can go buy some new games!! After that, we headed back to my house and had another Christmas morning! I got a few CD’s, some cologne, a new watch that is sweeeet looking, and a few other things. Then my family game me a CD player with a car kit. Now if you know anything about me, it is that my 1985 Ford Mustang is sitting in the back yard sorta…..broken =) So I was very puzzled. Then they gave me a small box and when I opened it, there were car keys inside. We all jumped up and I ran outside to the driveway where there was now a 1993 Ford Ranger sitting with a bright red bow on it!!!!!!!! AND IT WAS MARINER GREEN!!!!!

Words simply cannot express the feelings running through me at this time. I was jumping all over the place, hugging everybody, screaming, and doing everything else imaginable. I jumped inside it and looked around and fell in love. My dad jumped in and pointed down and said “So, do you know how to drive stick?” Well, let me take you back to a summer day when I was in 10th grade and my friend’s grandfather was trying to teach us how to drive a stick shift. That was about the extend of my knowledge. But after about an hour and 50 stalls later, I had the hang of it and was cruising around town =) What a Christmas!

Thursday was my brother’s birthday! We decided to stay for the day and hang around the house. Then Friday came around and last night we drove back to Charleston. And that brings us to today, in which I have spent a majority of my time awake typing this damn long post and helping Jessica configure her GreyMatter, which I have failed at so far. Don’t even ask about that thing. It just keeps screwing up. So there you have it. That is what I have been doing lately and now that I am back to my regular schedule, I can post every day =)

The Packers are on tomorrow and if they win, homefield advantage throughout the playoffs! GO PACK GO!!! Geez, I have so much more I want to type about, but I guess I will save that for the rest of this week and go ahead and end this ungodly long post. I hope everybody had a great Christmas! Leave me a nice comment!!

The semester is over!

December 15th, 2002 at 12:00 am

Ahhhh…..FINALLY!

The semester is over and I am now spending some time down in Charleston with Jessica!! I have been looking forward to being out of school for weeks now! Jessica came and picked me up yesterady after my last exam and then we headed on down here. We went to this park close to her house where they had over 2 million lights set up in various different designs and whatnot. It was pretty cool =) Then we went to see the new Star Trek movie which was pretty good and then back here!

This morning….er this afternoon I should say, we woke up and headed down the road to get a full body massage that she wanted to surprise me with =) I had been trying to guess all week what we were going to do and let me tell you, it was amazing! Easily one of the best surprises I have gotten in a long long time! =) We are going to Atlanta this Tuesday to watch the Hawks-Wizards basketball game. Ever since we were little, we have both wanted to see Michael Jordan play in person. And we figured since we have the time off and this will most likely be our last chance, we should go!

Has anybody else noticed that SNL has sucked amazingly horrible this year? I mean, ever since their awesome years in the early and mid 1990s, they have sucked a little, but at least they had Will Ferrel to pull them out of the gutter every now and then. But now…jesus….this show is just horrible. It’s hard to stomach a whole episode now. What a shame.

Ok, I am off to work on my site a little and try to figure out what all I am doing for the month I have off. God it feels good to worry about having too much time off!

Finals Week

December 10th, 2002 at 12:00 am

Well, I now am 3/5 the way finished with my exams. I took my Computer Science exam today and yesterday I took my English and Government ones. I think I did fairly well on all three of them so far, but we will find out in a week or two when grades are posted on-line. I can’t wait to finally be done with this semester and get the hell out of here for a month. I really need a vacation from school right about now.

Now, I live in the South. We don’t much snow here. In fact, we’ve only gotten maybe a total of 20 days of snow since I have ever lived here. But even before it snowed, I knew what it looked like. But obviously, this guy was so confused by the oh-so-mysterious concept of snow that he thought his car had been spraypainted by a gang of hooligans. Yeah bud, these kids found a thousand gallon drum of white spray paint, covered not only his car, but every other car, house, and yard within eys view, and magically made it feel cold. Jesus…..

Well, I am off to do a little studying and maybe play some video games for an hour or so. I need a break from studying =) I need to do some laundry too. I am totally out of clothes. Anybody wanna send me $5 so I can afford it?! =)

Random Stuff

December 6th, 2002 at 12:00 am

Well the past two days were quite unexpected. Jessica called me up Tuesday night and said that she was going to be in town! She had her puppy with her, so we couldn’t sneak her into my dorm, so we went to the hotel down the road and got ourselves a room where we could sneak the puppy in there =) It was wonderful being able to spend two days with her! Today is basically the last day of classes for me. I have one last class tomorrow and then that is it. Then exams for a week and off to Charleston to stay with Jess!

I updated…er, created that links page over there. It’s still not totally complete, but it’s good enough to go ahead and put up. I am currently typing up my Bio page which should be ready to go within a day or two, so keep a lookout for that.

So does anybody want to give me a job? I am sorta looking for something I can do at my computer here at home, not have to really report to anybody, and pays good =) Seriously, I do want to work from home if there is any way to. I tutor kids in my classes and that actually pays pretty damn good compared to the little amount of time I put into it, but I would still like to have a “real job” if I could. Something where I can actually know when and how much I will be paid on a regular basis.

My roommate is moving out next semester, which means I get to go through the whole “meeting and living with a new person” bullshit. David was pretty cool this semester. I thought it wasn’t going to work from the phone conversations that I had with him, but in the end he didn’t smoke, drink, party too hard, or get in my way which was perfect. We did everything seperatly and I know that makes it sound bad, but god it was perfect. We just kept out of each other’s business and everything was smooth. Now I have to get a new roommmate (most likely some freshman who didn’t get housing this semester) Hate to break it to him, but he is coming into my room so if we don’t get along, I’ll personally open the door for him. Bad roommate = Very Angry Goob

Ok, well it is ungodly cold and I still need to run, so I guess I should go do that. It is like below freezing out there and I can’t run in sweats, so I go out in my T-shirt and shorts…..I come in frozen solid, but oh well. After running it’s back here to update my site and write a little bit of my English paper that was due 10 hours ago =)

Construction!

December 3rd, 2002 at 12:01 am

I found this horrible ugly construction sign, so I decided that if I went and put it on each of the pages I have yet to finish with, it would motivate me to finish them faster =)
