Ichiro is truly the man.

Yet I witnessed two of them launch into the stands yesterday.
Yep, I’m having a damn good time here =)

Today was an amazing day since I was able to talk to a few of my favorite people from Australia. God I still miss that place.
I fixed the gallery. Don’t ask how though. I’ve got three new posts ready to go as well, which I’ll try and spread out over the next three days. Until then, go have a look at the new Aussie Cast Page that I just finished working on. There are heaps new faces that weren’t on the original version and truth be told, I’m already thinking of more people I could have added. But for now, we’ll just stick with these. And as always whenever I upload one of these big pages, if you see any errors or typos, let me know.
It’s past 0600 folks and I’m exhausted. Goodnight.
To all those Americans out there who are friendly to Shyzer, I wish you all a Happy 4th of July. Now go back outside and enjoy your BBQ and family!
And to all my Aussie mates, I’ll be toasting that longneck of Toohey’s Old Black Ale you see in the cam picture in your memory. It’s the one and only bottle I was able to bring back to the US and I thought it would be fitting to drink it on America’s Birthday (I literally cringe when I type that. The historian in me is far to anal about “facts” and all.)
I promise to have another worthwhile Shyzer post uploaded soon. I’m still up in Minnesota as of now and my Internet capability is limited to a minute or two per day tops. I haven’t even had time to read my e-mail or comments here on Shyzer, so I can’t wait to get to them later on this week. I’ll be going back to South Carolina sometime in the next few days to participate in Jeremy’s wedding, then it’s off to Columbia to see about going back to Australia, off to Charleston to relax on the beach with Fellner’s family (and hopefully see Vernice, Jugdish, and Elton!), off to some place in the mountains for Jeremy’s bachelor party, off to Seattle to watch some Mariners games with Chong, back to Columbia to graduate from Uni (dear God, I can’t believe I finished), off to Myrtle Beach for a week at the beach with my family, then off to find a job that will pay me enough money in a short period of time to return back to the land I’ve somehow fallen in love with.
But for now, I’m off to enjoy the fireworks, shoot off a few of my own, and enjoy myself. Peace y’all.
It’s 2335 on Tuesday night and I’m here in Sydney with Hannah, Keeley, Simon, Tim, and Tom celebrating my last night here. I head to the airport tomorrow morning and go home after four of the best months of my life. I’m only at an Internet cafe now, so I will upload a longer post once my plane lands in the states and I can find an Internet cafe in the airport.
I still don’t want to leave. At all. Not one single ounce…or gram I should say =) I’m gonna miss you guys heaps.
For your viewing pleasure, I’ve uploaded the final two videos that Hannah recorded of me slightly tipsy. They’re not as funny as the first, but I decided to upload the second one because I find it hilarious that I can’t plug the fan in and the third one because I mistake packets of seasoning for…protection. Plus I get angry with the piece of noodle for not going in my mouth.
Anyways, here they are. Goob Drunk 2 and Goob Drunk 3.
I really want to get Hannah’s camera and film some more stuff around here. I’d use the camcorder I brought, but I wouldn’t be able to upload any of the film since all the special hard and software is back home. There’s a pretty big ball / party here this Saturday, so hopefully I’ll be able to film some stuff there instead of me being in the films!
I’ve spent the last four hours or so working on Shyzer as well. It’s 0322 at the moment and I’m not even remotely tired, so I’ll most likely spend another few hours working on stuff. Just keep checking out the Update page to find out what I’ve been working on since I’m listing things on there as I go tonight.
Glad everybody enjoyed the Post Secrets entry I made. I received quite a bit of feedback on that, which was nice.
I wish I had a new post to upload tonight, but right now I’m running on fumes. The past few days have pretty much been me writing essays, sleeping to make up for my lack there of, or working on Shyzer’s bastard child that I at times wish I had never embarked upon. I should have left him chained in the basement, locked in the corner, feeding him nothing but stale bread. Oh, and I spent all day Wednesday filming a video for a media class on campus. One of my good mates here Sarah (whose bio is STILL not uploaded on here. Seriously, if I was her, I’d kick my ass for taking so long to get this thing uploaded) is in the class and asked me to come audition for it. I said what the hell, showed up, and proceeded to bring my A game with me. Basically it was me being filmed while making fun of Australia and as I walked out, they went ahead and told me I’d be back for filming. So I went and filmed the rest of the movie last Wednesday and we’ll finish it up this Sunday. I’ve been promised a copy of the tape (including the audition, which is what I want the most) so you know what that means. At least, you should know what that means. That’s right, that media link over there to the left will have a nice, new video clip for your viewing pleasure just as soon as I can get my hands on the clip.
You know how I always say I have a word document filled with upcoming Shyzer posts? I just hit Word Count on that thing and it’s over 10,000 long. That’s my problem. I can write the first or second half of a post, but until I can think of a “perfect” way to finish/start it, I stash it off until the proper inspiration comes to me. Well I’ve decided to drop my anal-retentivness and force myself to finish them, good or bad. We’ll see how this turns out, but here’s to hoping at least a few thousand of those words can meld together into one, solid post.
Coming next on Shyzer? A fellow Goobling joins the ranks of teenagehood and is initiated into sacred ranks of Goob’s Brotherhood. Stay tuned.
Looks like I’ll be playing baseball here after all. I won’t bore you with the details, but I basically found out that my International Student health coverage that I was forced to purchase will cover my baseball insurance, so I then worked out a deal, money-wise, that suited me. Now I just wish I had actually brought my cleats and other baseball equipment with me instead of only my glove.
My one burning question, however, is what kind of mascot is representing us? I’ve stared at the hat in the current cam picture and for the life of me, all I can come up with is that we are the Spitting Camels? The Spittin’ Cams? The Smoking Joe Camels? The Double Humpers? What kind of team uses a spitting animal as its mascot? I’m a bit baffled here.
Right now, however, is Week 1 of our two week break. About 90% of the student population has gone home already, which means that this place is practically dead. Josh, John, and Dave are all here though, so we tend to hang out every night and watch movies or just goof around. Josh and I are probably heading up north to Aiden’s, Emma’s, and then Memma’s hometowns later this week. So it looks as if I’ll be taking Shyzer on yet another Road Trip, just as long as I can find an Internet connection while I’m gone.
And ignore the post below this one. I’m trying to see if I can “optimize” the Google Ads I’m using so that they start showing more profitable ads instead of the Dermatologist ones they are showing now. But it doesn’t really matter what ads it shows if nobody clicks them! *hint bloody hint*
remember us when you post on Shyzer from time to time. we all feel so neglected. - Fellner
Well here’s your shout out Fellner. Fear not, for I have looked and looked for a Replacement Fellner, but I simply couldn’t find anyone over here as cool as you. Or who would let me call them a whore all the time.
Thanks to all those who commented on the entry below. I’ve already started typing the next edition, which should be up early next week.
I can’t believe that it’s already April. Before I know it, I’m going to be forced to leave this wonderful country and that is simply unacceptable. Anyway, after next week, Uni lets out for a two week break and if all goes according to plan, a few of us International students are going to hop on a train and start traveling around. Most of the Americans here are doing the normal touristy stuff, but we figure that since we’re over here to live, why not go and see how other Aussie people live? So in an attempt to do just that, we’re gonna try and hit up a few of the everyday, normal hometowns of some of our mates. Screw Cannes, Sydney, and Melbourne. Give us Dubbo, Nambla, and COFFS HARBOR (BECAUSE LIKE OMG IT’S THE BEST) any day of the week.
Two nights ago at dinner, Casey out of the blue mentioned that he liked the Shyzer Shuffle. After getting rid of the “oh dead God, kill me now” thought that I initially had, I asked if anybody else had seen it. 15 minutes later we were in Keeley’s room watching and laughing over the “dance” and the seizure given to our poor dog. By the end of the night, I’d given a few live performances and taught Karen the correct way to do it as well.

I’ve grown extremely tired with the current layout I have up. I’ve already begun looking at a few other sites whose layouts I want to mimic somewhat. I’ve also gotten the inkling to upgrade from MovableType to Wordpress and start using php instead of the shtml that I’ve got running now. The only problem is that I know absolutely nothing when it comes to php and I’ve already tried teaching myself once before. But now that I’m about to have Internet in my room, I think I’ll give it another serious go.

I received an e-mail yesterday from the Uni’s baseball team containing the rosters for this years teams. I only attending one practice (back in late February) and I was extremely hung-over seeing as how it was a Sunday morning. I played like shit, saw that it was going to cost me $300 to play just for three months, and decided that I wasn’t going to pay $100 a month for baseball. Well, apparently my hung-over, one-attendance practice was enough to place me on the 2nd grade team. (The grades go 1-6, with 1 being the highest.) I say this not to try and brag, since there is no way I should be on the 2nd grade team, but to show how few Aussie’s actually play the sport of baseball over here! It’s depressing actually. Thankfully, I’ve got opening day to look forward to. Looks like the ESPN channel over here is carrying the Red Sox-Yankees game at 1000, which you can be assured I will be up and watching.
And finally, tomorrow night is a night I’ve been looking forward to a bit too much. Gender Bender, where the guys dress as girls and vice versa. Needless to say, I can’t wait to see and upload any and all pictures that are taken. I’ve already lined up a purple dress with white polka dots to wear and a few of the girls on my corridor can’t wait to apply my makeup.
Yeah, I’m looking forward to this just a bit too much…
I’m not sure what exactly kept me from posting this week. I just blinked and wham, it was Saturday night. Monday night we cooked the rest of our sausages leftover from a cookout Sunday and Tuesday / Wednesday were pretty much laid back, relaxing days. St. Paddies Day was fun, Friday I used all my Internet time at once and pretty much spent today answering e-mails and writing essays and whatnot. But don’t let the laid back attitude fool you. I’m still having more fun here than I’ve had in ages. I just need to make sure I don’t stray too far away from the real Goob, if that makes any sense.
In case the glaring light off my head in the recent cam pic didn’t clue you in, I shaved my head again this week. I grew bored and annoyed with the hair and decided that it was either time to let it grow out long again, a la the Jesus Look, or lop it all off and start over fresh. And now, as I sit here running my hand over my head, I can’t help but think that I almost forgot how much of a freeing feeling this actually is.
Tomorrow I’m heading back to the beach, as I did last Sunday. I’ve never really enjoyed the beach back home because in all honesty, they blow. But the beaches here are amazing. When we went last week, most of the Aussie’s with us all stared at the waves and commented on how small they were. If I had transported those waves back home, they probably would have been some of the biggest ones of the summer. So frankly, I can’t wait to see how much larger they are tomorrow.
I promise next week will bring with it more frequent posts. I’m about 85% done with the Aussie cast page that I’m making. I have all the pics and info and have written most of the people’s bios. The few that I have yet to do are proving to be the hardest, but I’m aiming to have them done within a day or two.
And with that, I’m going back to the conversation with Alex, John, and Sez that is going on right behind me. Did I mention it’s 0300 and we are going to the beach in the morning?
God, I love this country.
Just a quick update until later tonight. I found a way to convert my 350mb home videos into an 8mb file without losing hardly any of the sound or video quality, so I cannot wait to get all of these converted and uploaded to Shyzer. If I don’t do it by the morning, you can shoot me.
The artist section of shlyrics is complete! Now all I have to do is stick the meanings section on them and then open it to the public. You may be wondering what’s taking me so long, but when you see the size of this thing (about 110 pages or so), you’ll realize that it’s about 8 times larger than all of the current Shyzer.
And most importantly, my all-time favorite Internet Flash video (Magical Trevor!!!) has a SEQUEL!!!! Magical Trevor 2!!!! Here’s the lyrics for those who can’t understand it.
“He’s back and he’s got a new trick,
Magical Trevor is ten times as slick,
As the last time, the last time you saw him
Now you can see why we really adore him
You might think his new trick is sick,
Sawing a pigeon in half with a stick.
Look at the pigeon, now it’s in two.
Oh my, its rear end is having a poo.
Look at the mess in aisle two.
Aisle two, that’s the place where we saw the Ragu
There’s so much…”
Fellner gave me a great idea on a way to combine Magical Trevor and my new home video editing / acting skills. I’m gonna work on it tonight and if it turns out to be even remotely funny, I’ll upload it. But I’m already giggling just sitting here thinking about it, so I’m guessing this will be a go.
