Insert retarded title about me still being alive here

November 4th, 2005 at 04:31 am

Yeah, I’m still in Australia, hence the total abandonment of Shyzer for the past two weeks. I’ll be returning back to Virginia within a few days with some good stories and photos. Plus I’m stocked up on Aussie food and beer….good God this stuff is delicious!

Just for a short preview of what’s to come, November will bring with it a trip to South Carolina for Thanksgiving, which means there should be at least a good post or two out of that. There’s also some other videos that I shot a few weeks back at home, including “Box Man”, but apparently our camcorder is malfunctioning ever since root beer was spilled on it on the trip out here to Aussie, so I’m gonna have to send that in to get it repaired first. Whoops. Let’s see, what else do we have here. Oh yes, there are some 11-month old prank phone calls that I hoep to get uploaded that now aren’t in the least bit funny to me, but since my brothers and I did them, I’m gonna upload them damnit!

Okay that’s it. Until next time.

This is how you do a Filler.

Not much has changed or been going on in the Life of Goob. After finally completing this new layout, I took a day off, ignored all responsibilities, and basked in the glory that was “That bloody layout is finally complete.” Since then, I’ve gone to reworking Hey, It’s Free so that there’s some actual, you know, content on that site. I’ve also been testing out all sorts of new freebie offers out there with mixed success, but hey, I do it so you don’t have to. Hopefully I’ll have a review of it all up on HIF by the end of the week.

I still have some tweaking left to do around here, such as fix all the sublinks, change some of the colors, etc. Nothing major thankfully. I’m also back on track working on Shlyrics, which Stan didn’t know about until last week. Sucker. And finally, go ahead and silently curse me for wasting your time, because I am not going to go to bed. Which means this post will have no real substance and therefore was probably a waste of your time. Sorry bout that.

No good title

The gallery is down until further notice. The tech support for my host is dismal at best and therefore, I’m thinking about changing host to a more reliable and customer friendly company. I already have one in mind, I just have to talk to the owner and see what’s up. So, if Shyzer goes down early next week for 24 hours or so, fear not. It will be for the better in the end.

Now for some good news. Remember the post I made a year ago about a little flash animation called Magical Trevor? And remember the post I made last February about the sequal, Magical Trevor 2? Well if you haven’t guessed it by now, Magical Trevor 3 was recently released and I’m in love all over again.

Also, I updated the radioblog with a singer named Marc Broussard. I absolutely love his song titled “Hope For Me Yet,” but he’s got some other great stuff in there. Check it out.

Phew…

The past week has been quite hectic and yet there’s not one single large accomplishment I’ve made or project I’ve taken on. It’s mainly been just catching up on all the little crap that I’ve put off for the past three months. The hunt for a job is in full swing, my plans for the next few months (some of which are quite secretive…in the good way…you’ll understand once I reveal them) are taking up most of my brain activity, and there’s still the moving, unpacking, seeing my family, etc.

And of course, there’s Hey, It’s Free, which opened up earlier this week. I want to thank everyone for the kind words as well as constructive criticism. I’m still tweaking the site constantly, trying to find out what works and what doesn’t, where to place ads, what type of ads, etc. And of course there’s the large amount of material that I’ve been writing for the site. Here’s to hoping it pays off and Hey, It’s Free takes off. Remember, tell your family and friends about it and seriously, if there’s anything you don’t understand, ask me! That’s what the site is freaking for!

But that’s not the only web venture that I’m striking out upon. Oh no. For the past year or so I’ve had quite a bit of pent up energy to make a few more sites, some for business and some for fun. The next one is already under development (sadly it’s a business and I’m still undecided if I want to affiliate it with Shyzer. We’ll just have to see) and then there’s the next one over the horizon that hopefully will be ready by October. Like the title says, it’s heaps of work, but I’m enjoying it and learning so much as I progress.

Anyways, I know this has been a bit of a random post, but I wanted to give a small update on things. Check back here later on today as there will be a few updates on the site to check out. Until then, I’m off to bed and waking up early tomorrow. Job interviews…what a waste of time…

That’s Alumni Goob to you.

Home from graduation / the beach. Will post tomorrow. Until then, I sleep.

Back from Seattle.

Just a filler post for now. First off, I want to apologize for the tagboard bogging down Shyzer over the weekend. I know some people couldn’t even get the blog or any of the pages to load. Luckily, Tagboard had the problem fixed by the time I walked in the door from Seattle.

Second, I have no idea where my webcam is. It’s packed up in one of my many boxes around the house, so I just threw up an old cam picture over there. It’s from early 2003, so I doubt many of you were around for it the first time. In fact, I’m guessing all of zero of you would have even recognized it was a recycled picture. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

As you can see, I’m back in South Carolina after an awesome 5 days in Seattle. I’ve got a few days here before I go down to Columbia to graduate this Saturday, then it’s off to the beach for four days and then……then……time to get a job.

Son of a bitch….

I’ll try and get a few posts up this week, but in all honesty, 90% of my effort is being directed towards a new site that has been in the making since April. I want to launch by this time next week. But fear not! While in Seattle, Chong and I made some interesting travel plans for the end of September which shall be fully revealed in due time. Of course, they involve going to a foreign country where neither one of us knows the language and renting a car to drive to another foreign country where we still don’t know the language, so there shall be plenty of hilarity to share. But I’m getting too far into the future here. Now, I need sleep. Tomorrow, I shall post. Until then.

Ichiro is truly the man.

Ichiro has only 9 homeruns all year.

Yet I witnessed two of them launch into the stands yesterday.

Yep, I’m having a damn good time here =)

Hope is a powerful force

Today was an amazing day since I was able to talk to a few of my favorite people from Australia. God I still miss that place.

I fixed the gallery. Don’t ask how though. I’ve got three new posts ready to go as well, which I’ll try and spread out over the next three days. Until then, go have a look at the new Aussie Cast Page that I just finished working on. There are heaps new faces that weren’t on the original version and truth be told, I’m already thinking of more people I could have added. But for now, we’ll just stick with these. And as always whenever I upload one of these big pages, if you see any errors or typos, let me know.

It’s past 0600 folks and I’m exhausted. Goodnight.

Still Missing My Second Home

July 4th, 2005 at 09:46 pm

To all those Americans out there who are friendly to Shyzer, I wish you all a Happy 4th of July. Now go back outside and enjoy your BBQ and family!

And to all my Aussie mates, I’ll be toasting that longneck of Toohey’s Old Black Ale you see in the cam picture in your memory. It’s the one and only bottle I was able to bring back to the US and I thought it would be fitting to drink it on America’s Birthday (I literally cringe when I type that. The historian in me is far to anal about “facts” and all.)

I promise to have another worthwhile Shyzer post uploaded soon. I’m still up in Minnesota as of now and my Internet capability is limited to a minute or two per day tops. I haven’t even had time to read my e-mail or comments here on Shyzer, so I can’t wait to get to them later on this week. I’ll be going back to South Carolina sometime in the next few days to participate in Jeremy’s wedding, then it’s off to Columbia to see about going back to Australia, off to Charleston to relax on the beach with Fellner’s family (and hopefully see Vernice, Jugdish, and Elton!), off to some place in the mountains for Jeremy’s bachelor party, off to Seattle to watch some Mariners games with Chong, back to Columbia to graduate from Uni (dear God, I can’t believe I finished), off to Myrtle Beach for a week at the beach with my family, then off to find a job that will pay me enough money in a short period of time to return back to the land I’ve somehow fallen in love with.

But for now, I’m off to enjoy the fireworks, shoot off a few of my own, and enjoy myself. Peace y’all.

Last night in paradise

June 28th, 2005 at 09:37 am

It’s 2335 on Tuesday night and I’m here in Sydney with Hannah, Keeley, Simon, Tim, and Tom celebrating my last night here. I head to the airport tomorrow morning and go home after four of the best months of my life. I’m only at an Internet cafe now, so I will upload a longer post once my plane lands in the states and I can find an Internet cafe in the airport.

I still don’t want to leave. At all. Not one single ounce…or gram I should say =) I’m gonna miss you guys heaps.
