Growing out hair

February 27th, 2003 at 12:00 am

What better use for my website then a shameless plug for my E-bay items? Go bid now and I’ll throw in a personal autograph! Lol….

In other news, my experiment with a shaved head has come to an end. So I go from: [outdated picture] to [outdated picture] and [outdated picture] EDIT: If you really want to see me with a bald head, go into the gallery and look around.

I DID have some pictures from last semester when I had my hair grown long and shaggy. But I think I lost those in the 9 or 10 reformats I did on my computer in the last month. Stick around for another year or so and you will get to see it =)

So why, you might ask, have I decided to shave my goatee and grow out my hair? Well Jess had never really liked the bald head and it was starting to become a pain in the ass shaving it every week. Plus baldness runs wild in my family. I’ll be lucky to be able to grow my hair out past 40….And as far as the goatee, well, I think those only look good with a bald head. And plus I scratched the hell out of Jessica when I kissed her, so that had to go. So I decided to let it grow long and freely until I start to bald and THEN I’ll let myself shave it clean and smooth and grow the hair on my face again.

Damn, I’m gonna miss that look though…..

More random thoughts

February 26th, 2003 at 12:00 am

More Random Thoughts I carry around in my head….

Wait a second…you mean the cast of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” might be available for a TV show? They weren’t busy? I can’t believe it! This is unbelievable! I also noticed that CBS is now calling Monday, “Big Fat Greek Monday.” I wasn’t planning on tuning in, but now, you know, it’s Big Fat Greek Monday and all. I guess we all have to stop by, right?

I’m not sure if anybody else saw “Saved By The Bell: The E! True Hollywood Story,” but I will say this: I was skimming over an article about it looking for something else and came upon this gem. Mr. Belding mentioned that (a) he grew a mustache so he could “distance himself” from the Mr. Belding character to pursue other roles, and (b) he was still upset about the last two seasons of the show because the writers “took too many liberties” with the characters of Screech and Mr. Belding……

I can’t even finish this joke. (a) and (b) sell themselves.

There isn’t a situation on the planet in which I would feel comfortable getting my shoes shined.

So what is my favorite NHL Division, you ask? That would be the Southeastern Division: Florida, Washington, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, and Carolina. ‘Lotta history there.

I’m wondering if it’s too early to induct the Post-Will Ferrell SNL season into the “Hall of Fame for Bad SNL Seasons”

Nothing really to say

February 24th, 2003 at 12:00 am

I go too long in between posts. I’ll fix that as soon as people start to complain. =) And yes, I DO change my cam image. I think it is something like every 4 months or something…ok, seriously, I’ll update it when I get back to Columbia. I’m down here in Charleston again this weekend. And I like it quite a lot =) My class for today was cancelled, so I don’t have to drive back until Monday night. My Spring Break is in two weeks and I still don’t know what I am doing…any ideas anyone?

They now have a cereal called Smorz, where it is basically marshmallows and chocolate graham crackers. So we have Smorz, Reese’s Puff, Cookie Crisp for the “more important meal of the day”….and we wonder why the country is so overweight.

I found this article pretty interesting about the US holding back aid if countries don’t support our policy in Iraq. I would take it a little more seriously had I found it on CNN or Reuters, but none the less, I think the basic theme to it is true. Can’t expect much more our government.

Ok, I am off to work on this site a little. I’m gonna move the links on the left around and work on a few things. Peace.

Random post

February 19th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Well this post is going to be extremally random, just to let you all know =)

My current project is to get my Desktop back to working condition. I had Win ME on it. Decided to put Win XP on it. Then tried to go back to ME. Something didn’t quite work right and now my computer doesn’t quite see the “c:” drive, which is just a little problem =) Since I reformatted that thing back in late January, I’ve probably spent a good 45-50 hours working on it. No fun….

What’s more important, trees or parking? Columbia seems to think that by taking away all the parking lots and planting trees, people will be happy. They just forgot one small detail. People won’t be happy. Parking in Columbia is crazy. I didn’t think it was possible to quadruple park 4 cars until I saw it this morning. There were some angry people out there. The way I see it, when you take away parking to plant trees, people become more and more stressed out. As this cycle grows, eventually somebody will snap and run off and start a forest fire somewhere, burning down thousands of trees. And Columbia thought they were doing a good thing…

Somebody keeps taking down my “Tutor Flyers” that I have up offering to tutor people. Either they really want to make sure that they don’t forget my phone number or they don’t want other people in their class getting smarter, ultimately throwing the grading curve off.

Speaking of my phone, I seemed to have blown out one of my electrical outlets. This very outlet was the one that connected electricity to my telephone, so now my phone no longer how power. Without power, I cannot talk to people and schedule tutoring sessions. So why did the outlet blow? I was using my Dirt Devil and sucked up a knockoff Frosted Mini Wheat. Those things really are hard. So by “saving” $1.50 and getting the cheaper, harder Frosted Mini Wheats, it could ultimately cost me a few hundred dollars in lost tutoring sessions.

I don’t like Frosted Mini Wheats anymore.

So damn sick

February 17th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Good God, I have not felt this sick since…..well, since a few months ago, but that’s beside the point. I have caught that god forsaken flu that is going around and I’ll let you all in on a little secret: surprisingly enough, throwing up is not a fun way to spend your nights.

I’m still stuck in my hometown, have yet to study for my exam on Tuesday, and can hardly finish typing this post. I’ll post again tomorrow when I’m feeling better.

And everybody go show Jessica some love. She’s caught this damn flu too…

My B-day Weekend

February 12th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Ahh, finally back here in Columbia…

Wait a minute, I would still rather be in Charleston =) Well, where to begin? I drove down to Charleston this past Thursday night and made it in time for the new ER and Daily Show =) You really have no clue how much you miss your daily comedy shows when you lose your TV. I am going through Simpsons, Seinfeld, and The Daily Show withdrawl…

Friday I woke up to My Birthday! I’m not usually a huge fan of celebrating my birthday and whatnot, but I do enjoy it when people remember and just take the time to let me know they remembered. I smiled each and every time somebody wished me happy b-day. Jessica took me out to dinnerm which was really nice. Ok, side note here. How many people actually eat the food they bring home from a restaurant? I’ve noticed that I will bring home any left over food, but I never eat it unless it is Chinese or chicken fingers. Ok, end of side note.

After dinner, we drove around and went to Toys R Us and the bookstore next to it. It wasn’t B. Dalton or Barnes and Noble I don’t think….great now, I’m going to be wondering what it was for the rest of the night! Jess bought me a few things and then we began our quest to find a Winn Dixie.

Now let me explain. A few years ago, my mom went to Winn Dixie and bought a cake for some party or something. I ate a piece. I loved it. I ate another. And another. And by that night, half the cake was gone. From then on, I have been hooked on Winn Dixie cakes with Buttercream icing. If it’s whipped icing, I won’t touch it. Since I like them so much, I only get a few each year on special occasions. Well, Jess and I drove around for a good hour or so looking for Winn Dixie, but we eventually found it and it was on to Blockbuster and then back to the apartment! We watched The Sum Of All Fears that night and it was actually one of the FEW movies where I can say they did a good job adapting it from the book. I was impressed with it. So my B-day was very nice and relaxing! And I got to spend it with the girl I love most, which made it all that more special!

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing with Jess =) Monday morning I was packing up to come back to Columbia when I saw that my one class that day had been cancelled, so I ended up staying in Charleston until late Monday night, which was very nice! I got to see Colleen’s new puppy, which is a pure bred Yellow lab…cutest damn puppy ever. Besides Chloe of course =)

Ok, now it’s time to thank those who wished me a happy B-day! (in order of wishing it to me on the boards) So thank you Jess, Stan, Teresa, Karynlee, Mia, Green, Telly, Amy, MJB, Isabelle, Die Hard, Angela, Mindy, ozmonkey, and Katie.

And to my real life friends, thanks Jess, Dad, Mom, Jules, Tom, Clay, Fitz, Fellner, Neece, Colleen, Caitlin, Casey, and Nook!

This weekend kicked ass. Jess is amazing. Seeing as how I have class in a few hours and have yet to sleep, I’ll post more later on today (I swear). Until then…

Life Vest

February 7th, 2003 at 12:00 am

I found this article early this morning and it reminded me of a time a year or so ago when my 10-year old brother smuggled one of those off the airplane and found out just how cool these things were. I should point out that we realized after the fact that on the label, it said “federal crime to remove” That just made it even more cool =)

Ok, picture if you will one of those Fisher-Price neon colored slides. The “big” ones that stand like 7 feet tall and have a few tunnels and mini slides built on. Now picture me, a 6′ 4” 19-year old climbing up on it sporting an uninflated airline life preserver. Now climbs aboard my 13-year old 6′ 3” brother (no that’s not a typo. The kid is huge. Out weighs me. Out muscles me. Will be able to kick my ass in a year. And he isn’t even in highschool) and imagine him climbing aboard the thing. Then throw in my little brother who is 10 and the picture is already pretty amusing.

Now comes the fun parts. We start pretending we are in an airplane, a fighter airplane to make it even cooler. And we’re flying and making “hnhnhnhnh” machine gun noises and shooting down the bad guys. I’ve personally hit 6 myself! But uh-oh, we’ve been hit!! I scream out that the engines are out and my brothers frantically start pressing the buttons and pulling those oh-so-important levers that are everywhere, but the engines won’t start. We’ve got to bail! So we jump on the top of the slide, and jump into the icy depths of the ocean…I mean our pool.

The minute I go under, I grab my emergency life cord and tug on it, and the magic CO2 springs into action, filling my life vest with air and rushing me to the surface. My brothers grab on and we float for days upon days until the search boats find us…I mean, my mom threw us a raft after we moaned and complained that she wasn’t playing with us.

And there even was a blinking light on the back of the vest so she knew where to throw the raft!

These things really work folks. Without ours, we would have sunk the the icy depths of our three-foot shallow end and been shark food….or pissed on by our baby brother *shudders*

El Nino

February 6th, 2003 at 12:00 am

MWAHAHAHAHA

Take THAT mother nature. Every since my first El Niño memories, I have hated that thing. Every few years when it decides to show up, the whole world’s weather has to be screwed with just because of that stupid warm water out in the Pacific. And everything is blamed on this damn thing. Turn on the news, wait until the weatherman comes on, and listen to him say:

Weatherman: “Well you see, we are experiencing a higher average rain fall this winter, which can be explained by the current El Niño phenomenon in the Pacific…” or “Due to El Niño, things around here are going to be much more warmer then usual.” Yeah, sure bud. My theory? This guy has no clue why things are happening, so he just blames them on El Niño. So what do I propose? We follow in his footsteps and blame everything on El Ninño too!

Imagine the possibilities if instead of “I overslept” you could try and pull off “Well you see Professor Smith, I really wanted and meant to write that 10 page essay on the 14th century beaver hunting industry, but you see, due to El Niño, I couldn’t finish on time.” or if your doctor told you “Well, it seems like you have caught bronchitis. How did you catch that? Um….well….El Niño!”

We could just blame everything on El Niño. Late to work? Flat tire? Divorce? Your favorite baseball team just lost the world series? El Niño, El Niño, El Niño, and the Mariners =)

I say it’d work. Anybody else with me?

TV is still broken

February 5th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Guess what is still broken. Yep, my good ole TV on my computer. Gotta love that No Free Range Memory crap it keeps giving me. I really should have thought twice before reformatting.

This week is kinda dull for me. Just sitting around my room, going to classes, and doing plenty of homework. I’ve updated a few sections of this site ( I know, I know, shocked aren’t you? Frankly, I am too. I figured this site would just half-ass it’s way through existence and here I am actually updating it.) I’m heading down to Charleston again this weekend, which is always nice =)

In 3 days and 19 hours from right now, the Mariners will open up Spring Training. God I love this time of the year. Baseball finally gets going and by June, it rules the sports world =) I think starting tomorrow, I am going to start giving a little run-down of all the MLB teams and their chances this year. That way me and my 3 other people who visit this site can see if I know what I am talking about or not when it comes to baseball =)

So, does anybody else have an ATI TV Wonder VE Video Card? If so, have you ever had the Free Range Memory problem? (Ok, shut up. It was worth a damn shot)
