Last day of classes

April 30th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Ok, the one thing keeping a smile on my face….the Mariners are playing tonight on TV!!!!! =)

I updated the Bio and Music section. I probably added 25 songs to my playlist, so be sure to check those out. I don’t feel like posting tonight. Today was the last day of classes though, so that’s a good thing. It’s actually 2:40 AM and I am going to bed. I know. That is like early as hell for me. Be sure to come back tomorrow night to see how the Mariners game went!

Rest before finals

April 28th, 2003 at 12:00 am

He’s a load! LOL….good times.

Hey everybody. I know it’s been a while since I posted. Sorry bout that. I was a little busy this weekend and sometimes I just don’t have the time to post. Last Thursday I packed some stuff up and took it down to Charleston to go ahead and start moving. I didn’t want to have to move all my shit at once after my finals, so I figured I might as well start moving a little bit by bit.

On Saturday, I drove back home since I had to get some tax papers from my dad and I needed to do my laundry. It was nice being home with the family. We played baseball on Sunday and that was fun as hell. I hit about 4 homeruns over the fence and we still barely won. Tommy, Clay, and I figured we’d join a tournament in StarCraft too. People won’t realize what hit them =) My dad cooked a DAMN good meal last night too. I swear, he could have been a professional cook on the side if he had wanted to. But he did well enough in the profession he picked =)

I love R. Kelly’s Ignition Remix. And I usually HATE that kind of music. Go download it though. It’s good. Tommy had it on the computer back home. I did some Criminal Justice homework this weekend while I was back home. The study guide foe the exam was posted and I downloaded that and started filling it out. Then I realized that I had to do this “Criminal Judge” thing. See, we had to open this program he had posted and in it, you were the judge. You heard both sides argue their case and then you had to make a ruling. There were six cases and I was 6 for 6 baby! And out of 175 people, only like 20 made perfect scores. Needless to say, I was pretty happy…..too bad I screwed around in the class earlier this semester. Lol. (*sidenote* Am I supposed to capitalize the L in lol? I mean, it’s technically the start of a sentence….if you can even call it that. Ok, so maybe it isn’t a sentence. But it looks funny with L. And it bothers me without the L. These are the kind of things that take up 4 hours of my time contemplating. Please, if anybody knows the answer to this, let me know.)

I just found out that President Bush is most likely speaking to the graduating class here at USC. That just blows my mind. President Bush. No, not President Bob Bush who runs some local company, the President of the United States of America. I think the biggest name to ever speak here at USC is a guy who knew the brother who was neighbors with a barber who groomed Bill Cosby’s dog. God, I want to go just so I can hear Bush speak in person and then mock and laugh at him later. That would be like the ultimate graduation present this great country of ours could give me. Just load me up with ammo to use against President Bush for the next year and I would be set.

I received some interesting news this afternoon. I’ll pass it along if it ends up being true. It actually made me start thinking about the people who read / potentially read my site and I realized that I don’t post some things that I want to because I don’t want to offend anybody. And then I thought “why the hell am I doing that? I don’t like 99.99% of people out there anyways.” So no more holding back. The only person I need to be censoring for is Jules.

Head over to the Bio section. I added a “50 random ass facts about me” section to it. Well it’s not up right this moment, but it will be tonight. I’ve got 39 so far. That’s all for now.

Full of random shit!

Too long since my last post

April 22nd, 2003 at 12:00 am

Damn, it’s been way too long inbetween this post and my last post. Sorry bout that.

Well let’s see here. I went down to Charleston this past weekend and that was fun =) On Saturday, Jessica and I went and played Oozeball with some people from her sorority. Oozeball is pretty much volleyball in a huge pit of mud. Put it this way. It’s damn fun! We ended up fininshing 2-2, which was pretty good for us. I was a little pissed with myself though because I cost us a few points by knocking the ball out of bounds. But diving around in the mud made up for any anger I had with myself! Jess got really sick this weekend though. YOU DON’T HAVE SARS!! There. I just had to get that out of the way =) She has a sore throat and her body aches all over and she was joking this weekend about how she had SARS. She won’t listen to me when I tell her she doesn’t have it, so everybody go tell Jess she doesn’t have SARS and wish her well!

I only have 1 1/2 weeks of class left plus a week of exams. Not damn bad. I have plenty of ASStronomy left to do. I really hate that class. It’s a self-paced class that I took last Spring and ended up having to take another hour of this semester to get the full Lab credit. Usually about 800 people take the class each semester and they average about 500 people failing. Enough said. It’s ungodly hard to learn and you have to just cram everything in right before you go take the quiz and repeat the process until you pass it. Needless to say, I waited until the last minute to do mine, so I will be in there this week for a few hours trying to finish that up. After that, I’ll have my FINALComputer Science Project to finish up and then just study for exams.

I still don’t know where I am working this summer. I am going to call a few places this week and send in a few applications and hopefully find something. I’m just psyched about living down in Charleston with Jess for the summer. It will be the first time that we have lived 24/7 with each other for more then a few weeks, which isn’t such a huge thing since we practically live together now since we are together 4 straight days out of the week. And last summer we got to spend most of the nights with each other, so this won’t be that different. But it just feels cool knowing that we will be living together. And the house that she found looks so damn cool. Chloe will love the fenced in back yard and from what I’ve seen, it looks really cute.

I have a few sections of the video games section ready to go up. I just need to code the colors to look like each game and then I will post them. I also edited the Iraq section (it’s not up yet) and I think I am going to add a new section to the Mariners page, which will have a daily update about each game typed by yours truely. I do that on my IM name anyways, so why not do it on my site where I have unlimited room?

I have become addicted to StarCraft again. Tommy, Clay, and I play it all the time now and I am looking into a few tournaments that we might be able to enter into this summer. They are coming down to stay with Jess and I for a week or so sometime, which will be pretty fun. It would be even cooler if I could happen to find a tournament down here that we could go win =) If not, we’ll just find something on-line to play. I was supposed to go play in Atlanta last September, but I had no car and that really sucked. I wanted to go see how I would match up against the “pro” gamers who play StarCraft religiously. I know I wouldn’t have a shot against them, but it would still be cool as hell to play them and see how long I could hold out. I’m thinking about starting a clan with just Tommy, Clay, and I in it. So if you see any weird pages on here, just ignore them since they will probably be part of our clan’s homepage =)

Well, I’m off to bed. Won’t SOMEBODY leave me a comment for when I wake up?!

Matrix preview

April 16th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Well even though it says Wednesday up there, I have yet to go to bed, so it’s still Tuesday for me =) So I didn’t break the promise. Anyways, this is another short post. I am about to run around campus at 2:30 AM and post some more flyers for tutoring in Computer Science 102. All the class does is simple HTML. I finished my tac return earlier too =) I actually sent it in back in March, but the darn thing got rejected because I put a 5 where a 3 should have been and they caught that. Oh well, I’m glad I got it figured out in time.

DOWNLOAD THIS NOW!!!!!! I cannot wait until the next Matrix movie coming out next month. The link is a download of the new and final 90 second trailer. Such a badass movie. And I have yet to see it.

I worked on the Iraq section for a while longer tonight. I was doing that while listening to my Mariners win their ballgame tonight and take sole possesion of 1st place in their division =) I LOVE baseball season, especially when the Mariners are doing well!

Well I am off for the night. I only have 1 class tomorrow, so of course I’ll be on-line all day long. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to finish up the Iraq section!

Electricity

April 15th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Well it’s been a while since I posted. That might have to do with Jessica’s roommate’s not paying the electricity bill on time meaning our power went out for the weekend =) I’m about to head to bed so I don’t feel like posting too much, but I worked on my Iraq arguements over the weekend and should have it posted by tomorrow. So look for the new Iraq section coming soon to a store near you…er, I mean this website. And even if it isn’t ready by tomorrow, I’ll still give ya a nice loooooong post to read. I promise =)

Breath of air…

April 8th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Well, I finally have a few minutes here to post. I have been amazingly busy this past week or so and when I look ahead, it doesn’t look like it is going to let up any time soon.

Has anybody every played StarCraft? It’s a video game for the PC and is one of the best selling games ever. It has a single player mode, but nobody plays that. That multi-player is what makes it awesome. My brothers and I were hooked on it when it first came out (6?) years ago. We were up to the point where we played it all night long and then the entire next day. Needless to say, we were pretty good =) We had two computers at our house, so my brothers and I could play at the same time, on the same team. Calling out to each other when we saw a snaek attack coming, or a huge hole in the enemy’s defense. When I came to college, I sadly found that the Internet connection here wasn’t strong enough to support the multi-player version of it. Whenever I tried to join a game, it took forever to load and people would kick me out. However, this past weekend I was home for a night and had the computer to myself, so I decided to play a game or two. I ended up running into a few old friends and playing it for 6 hours =) We kicked some major ass, just like the good ‘ole days. Then I had to come back to this crappy school’s Internet. I was going through some major withdrawl tonight, so I thought why not just try and see if I could get a game going. I logged into my account and then started looking around and realized something….

….I could join the games! =) I found out that the port which had previously been closed was now open, which meant that StarCraft no longer took forever to load. I was the fastest guy out there. I played for 30 minutes tonight and then forced myself to sign off, since I had homework to do. This WAS NOT a good thing to find out right at exam times =)

In other good news, the MARINERS are getting into full swing here. They won their home opener tonight against the World Champion Angels, which is always a good thing! I updated the Mariners section, adding who I thought would make it to the playoffs. By the end of this week, I should have the playoff bracket set up and who I think will win the World Series. I also have an idea of how to put an up-to-the-date Mariners update on my front page. Hell yeah! I also updated my Mariners Scrapbook tonight. See, back in 1995, I started keeping news clippings and articles about the Mariners. I’ve updated it every month or so and it’s over 3 photo albums large now =) You guys should see it!

I’ve been having some MAJOR cravings lately for some “good” music. That pretty much means playing all my favorite 50 or so songs over and over and just jamming to them 24/7. I have them all pretty much on CDs and have been listening to them in class while I take notes off the overhead =) I realized that my music list over there on the left was a little outdated, so I went and updated that tonight.

This weekend I’m heading down to Charleston again to see Jess, who I haven’t seen in two weeks. It’s amazing how fast two weeks can fly by and then when you stop to think about it, it feels like it’s been forever since I got to see her. So needless to say, I’m excited about getting down there and spending some more time with her!

Gosh, I COULD be talking about how much school work I have right now, but all this talk about StarCraft, the Mariners, music, and Jess has put me in a good mood for a change, so I will leave it at that!

Julianne

April 5th, 2003 at 12:00 am

Well, it’s been a while since I posted, so I thought I would catch everybody up.

This semester is quickly coming to an end (exams are over with on May 7) and I have so much to do. THis past week was spent working on a 12 page essay of the foreign policies of Stanley Baldwin and Neville Chamberlain and how public opinion changed them. The strange thing is I loved working on it. I’m just weird like that. History never bores me. I have a Criminal Justice exam on Tuesday and a Computer Science project due this week and then another one due 10 days after that, so I have to get working on those.

BUT, this weekend is being spent with my little sis Julianne. As the cam picture on the right shows, she is down here in Columbia with me for the weekend. =) I went home last night and picked her up and we drove here today and just hung out. See, last summer she wanted to go to Carawinds really badly. For those of you who don’t know what Carawinds is, it’s just this huge amusement park with tons of roller coasters. I was broke, so I told her that I would bring her down here for a weekend sometime during school.

And she never forgot! =) She would call every week asking when she got to come down, so we picked this weekend. We are heading over to the park tomorrow and gonna go do a few other things. She is having a blast, just being away from home and being with me. And it’s kinda nice having her around too. I don’t get to spend nearly enough time with her as it is.

In other news, I got a TV! Well see, my boy Ronak hooked me up with a TV card that he used to use. I gave him mine to see if he could get working on his computer and he gave me his to see if I could get it working on mine. After only 10 minutes, I had the baby up and running! So now I can watch Simpsons and the Daily Show!!! I bought GTA 3 today too, so I can’t wait to get down to Charleston and play it! Also, everybody go congratulate Jess on getting the Cougar Productions job! I knew she would get it, but still =)

Well, I’m off to work on the site a little more. I updated the Contact page and put the Be Ready page back up. I’m gonna finally start working on some of the video games pages tonight! Be sure to check out the new stuff!

Sports in Perspective

April 2nd, 2003 at 04:50 am

Go read this excellent article by Bill Simmons talking about sports and how they should be placed into perspective in times like these.
