Hell week is almost over

October 22nd, 2002 at 12:00 am

Damn I feel good right now. When I walked out of my class at 4:45 today, I looked around and realized that I only had one damn exam left this week and that one isn’t until Friday, so I won’t start working on that until tomorrow. So tonight, I get to sit back and finally relax and DAMN that felt good. I might even have some time tonight to actually update some of those links over there =) I went food shopping today too, so I finally have some fucking food. I am at the moment eating chips & salsa, a bowl of cereal, and an apple…I always buy food and then eat it real quick. Oh well. I might as well enjoy it while I have it! Well I am off to watch the World Series and do a shit load of nothing…I’ve earned it.

Fall Break is over.

October 17th, 2002 at 12:00 am

Well, Fall Break has come and gone and now Hell Week has officially begun. Starting tomorrow, I have 5 exams, 2 essays, and 2 projects due within the next week. Sounds like fun, eh?! I was in the library for a good 4 hours today just typing up one of the essays due tomorrow. You can always tell when mid terms and exams are because the library i spacked with people trying to study / cram. School sucks =)

My Fall Break was pretty good overall. We played football again on Monday and had about a 7 on 7 game, which was pretty good. I didn’t do nearly enough of my homework, but I got to spend some good ole’ quality time with the younger siblings which is always fun. We go the old SNES working and we found some old sports games from the early 90’s….wow, I can’t believe how far video games have come since then. We’ve gone from football games where there was only 10 plays you could call to games where you can pick the nose hair from your coach if you want to. Oh well, it was a fun few days to relax before all this damn work.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!

Haha, an old friend of mine used to scream that every time we played football using his “announcer” voice. Good times. I’m home for Fall Break now and it’s pretty nice to be here. I get to see the whole family and that’s always nice. We had a “huge” football game planned for today but when we got out there, everybody but 6 of us had pussed out and didn’t show. Hell, we didn’t need them. It was easily the best 3 on 3 game I’ve ever played and this was with 2 of the people being my little brothers. Actually, Tommy held his own since he is already 215 pounds and 6 feet, 3 inches tall….did I mention HE IS IN THE 8TH GRADE!!!! Yeah, I call him an orge. I am fucking dreading the day that he can kick my ass because I know it is coming soon. Clay (my other bro) came out with us and while he may be small, he was the perfect weapon =) Nobody saw him coming.

I should be doing my homework now. In the span of 8 days, I have 5 mid-terms, 2 essays, and a group project due and let’s all guess how much I have done….that’s right junior, not a damn thing. I have however mastered the art of stuffing 25 grapes in my mouth…ahh, if only I could get graded on the useless things that I know how to do. I’m still holding strong though. I swear, they will one day save my life. You heard it here first folks.

Well, this Philosophy paper is screaming my name. Actually, it’s screaming at me since the only thing I have ON IT is my name. Say a prayer for me folks, I’m gonna need it…

Who would have guessed?

So, here I am eating my daily sandwich, looking through ESPN when it finally hits me. The Minnesota Twins and Anaheim Angels are battling it out for the American League spot in the World Series. Think about that. Quick, name one player on the Angels. You can’t, can you? Name the manager of the Twins. Yep, didn’t think so. And it’s not just your everyday fan who doesn’t know these things, most “baseball fans” have no clue. And while I did pick the Twins to win their division and Anaheim to be the “Surprise Team” this year, I never imagined them in the ALCS. But damn, these two teams are a fucking blast to watch. They both know that their teams are full of players going through career years and that next year they won’t be as lucky, so they are playing as if their lives depended on it. It has been some years since I have seen such intensity and pure feeling being played out on the field and dear lord it is fun to watch.

And did anybody else notice that all 4 of the teams with homefield advantage lost? Guess it shows that homefield guarntees you two things. Jack and Shit.

Post…Baleted!

October 8th, 2002 at 12:00 am

Arg, I just typed up a pretty long post and GreyMatter deleted it……I gotta run to class though, so I’ll re-type it later on tonight. Hope everybody is having a great day!

What a day.

Well, today was easily one of the best days I have had in recent memory. Of course, the thing that made it wonderful was spending it with Jessica. She had told me that she would be in town a week or so ago and we decided to have a little picnic and just spend some time together. I had been looking forward to it since we planned it and when today finally rolled around, it was better than I could have imagined. It was perfect just talking with her and re-connecting like we once used to be a while ago. It had been a while since we actually had “talked” and it just felt wonderful. We talked about some important things that we had sorta danced around for a while, but we also were relaxed around each other and honestly, words can’t explain how great I felt today. I love her more than anything else and I know we have a lot of things to work through, but it still is a wonderful feeling knowing that she will always be in my life, no matter what.

A true weekend!

October 5th, 2002 at 12:00 am

It was beggining to slip away. The true meaning of “weekend” was starting to fad away…until today. The past few weekends have been spent studying. In fact, I probably have done more schoolwork on the weekends than the weekdays latley. However, last night I got back to what it should be like. I stayed up until 6 this morning doing a whole lot of nothing and proceeded to sleep in until 5 this afternoon =) And I plan on not doing a single thing until Monday. Ah, the joys of weekends.

NASA and the pencil.

October 4th, 2002 at 12:00 am

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 Celsius.

The Russians used a pencil.

Not a thing done.

I got all of nothing done today. I’ll probably stay up for a few more hours and work on my site seeing as how none of the links work yet over there. Hey, you can’t blame me. You should be surprised I’ve got this much done so far. Usually I set out to do something, get stuck 10 minutes into it, half-ass read the instructions until I hit a word I don’t know and then quit.

I should be tired…..

October 2nd, 2002 at 12:01 am

It’s funny how I can go from being in bed by midnight every night over the summer wnd getting up at 6 for fucking work to where I am at now. With college, your classes should never start with a number followed by AM. Therefore, I’m getting up at noon, heading to class, and by the time midnight rolls around, I just stay up. And up. And up….and that brings me to 6 in the morning, watching the freaking sun rise and listening to my neighbors get up for their 8 AM classes while I’m just heading to bed. What a wonderful thing college is.
